Lake Ohau is a glacial lake placed at the Mackenzie Basin in South Island in New Zealand. The lake gets its water from the Dobson and Hopkins Rivers. These rivers have their head waters in the Alps, in the Southern part. The Rivers have their out flow in the River Ohau, which itself gets its water from the waitaki River and the Hydroelectric project there. Mt Bachelor ski resort located not far from Bend, in Oregon. Mt Bachelor ski resort is extremely popular with tubers, snowboarders and skiers. Mount Bachelor was previously called the Bachelor Butte. The small sized mountain is a now geographically inactive volcano that went out of action about eight thousand to ten thousand years ago. It was formed eighteen thousand years ago. There are art galleries and shops as well.  The main attractions here are the surrounding mountains though.  It would be best if you come and enjoy the view from the many ski resorts that are world famous. You could also soak in everything in on a snow show with a dog sledding tour on your Colorado ski trips.

When you have an active day, you can enjoy a huge choice of cuisines from gourmet to diners.  You can also get casual and elegant places and everything in the between as well.

The Grand Targhee resort is a ski resort located in the Caribou Targhee national forest in Alta in Wyoming. The resort has its own lodging and a spa with retail stores and facilities for conferencing.  The famous Teton Range is located on the west side by about eight miles just to the northwest of Grand Teton. Majority of these slopes are at the Grand Targhee region.

There are lots of activities here like the three quad chairs and high speed detachable conveyors with double chairs.  There are many Nordic trails and vertical drops, there are snow adventures and many activities that include sleigh ride dinners and tours on dogsleds. There is a lot of champagne powder snow.  The snowfall here averages about five hundred inches. The inland is for about six hundred and seventy miles.  The snow is mostly in the form of dry powder. The rainfall is abundant and almost two fold.  The wet side of this is about thirteen thousand seven hundred feet. There are a lot of Grand Tetons and there is also a channel for moisture which is created though the Rocky Mountains which is formed by the Snake River plain.

There are two parks which are being removed which were terrain parks. If you manage to come here during summer then you will see sonic chairlift rides, camps for kids, music festivals and bluegrass festivals with the whole nine hole Grand Targhee village golf course. The Yellowstone national park is also in close proximity to this place. The original inhabitants of this place is where the Shoshone bannock , crow tribes are found.  The tee win at, Men’s high pinnacles in tribal language.  The chief Grand Targhee was known as the great head chief of all of the Banock people.  this leader led his people through  what seemed like  the most grim period in all of history.

These people were also forced from their nomadic ways and forced into a life of what seemed like hard labor. There was a lo of farming activities that were created  in the fort hall reservation.  There was a chief who was strongly admired for the strong character and integrity that he had. The many different people who came here honored him as well like the Euro Americans and the Native Americans as well.

Upon his death, the bannock was divided and a lot of them went to war with the euro Americans. And all this eventually led o what seemed to be the demise of a large proportion of the Bannock system.

The Deer valley ski resort is an alpine ski resort in the Wasatch Range in the park city area in the northern part of Utah.  This place is known world over for its upscale amenities. Deer valley ski resort Utah is consistently ranked amongst the top ski resorts in all of North America.  This is one of the few ski resorts that prohibit snowboarding. Deer valley also happens to be a site for the winter Olympics which were held in the year two thousand and two. There are freestyle moguls, aerial and many salon alpine events.

This place is responsible for regularly hosting many ski competitions on an international level.  When you have so many ski resorts nearby, Deer valley ski resort Utah competes really well, by catering to a more upscale audience than most of its neighboring ski resorts. Deer valleys provides facilities like free ski valets, free parking shuttles, lovely fine dining and boutique shopping in places like the main lodge. There is a lot of grooming equipment that you will find here which is other than the Wasatch ski area. These limit access to avoid over crowding. The resort is limited to the tickets sales of about sixty five hundred almost everyday.

When you reach deer valley on a total uphill lift, this is about fifty percent higher in capacity than the other parks. The deer valley ski resort has the capacity to accommodate about forty six thousand, five hundred skiers per hour.  There are twenty one chair lifts and about eleven high speed, detachable quads with about four passenger gondolas.

This is one of the first resorts that offer ski valets to carry the ski gear of the guest. There is a free parking lot for shuttles. This place is a state licensed child care facility and this place is the same for all of its employees.  The lift lines even have tissue paper and the customers are referred to as guests.  There are overnight ski check services as well.

The Deer valley ski resort Utah opened in the year nineteen hundred and eighty one on Bald eagle and the Bald Mountains.  There are five lifts that have been built by engineering.  These are also known as yan. The Burns double and the carpenter with the homestake and the sultan all have triple chairs.  The lift was started in the year nineteen hundred and eighty two.

Davos happens to be quite a busy place  when it comes to its resort that is located on its beautiful alpine playground. This is a town that extends far and wide along broad Landwasser river valleys. These lie between two large mountain ranges. This also happens to be an area which likes to the southeastern canton of Graubunden.  This place happens to famously be the holiday corner of Switzerland and is also home to some of the best winter sports centers in all the world where you could have a lot of Davos ski fun. the Arosa Klosters and the Films, Pontresina and the saint moritz. The medical importance of this place has continued quite a lot.  There are many highly specialized practices which provide therapies and research for allergies. There are respiratory illnesses as well. these have dermatological problems.  This place is also renewed world over for its awesome medical conference center. There are many top  international meeting that are usually held here at the convention center.  In the year eighteen hundred and eighty seven, there was a natural ice rink which was worked on over here. these were the first steps toward which the development of what seemed like a sports destination which was deemed world class.  These were even flanked by lovely mountain views on both sides. These provide for a natural attraction as well.  The valley here is quite high and well protected by the many mountain slopes which are well frosted. These were are remind to be  the perfect environment where you could enjoy the finest kind of nature all through the year.

If you are interested in skiing and snowboarding then Davos turns out to be an excellent place.  There are in fact seven different ski areas which have been developed here.  also the many sport enthusiast that come here so often come to spend a week on what seems to be an amazing ski idea almost every day.

Calgary in Alberta is home to a long held tradition of winter sports. Most of this has been taken out from its location which happens to be close to the Rocky Mountains in Alberta and the famous Banff national park.  In fact after the nineteen hundred and eighty eight Olympics, this city has had sport and training facilities for lots of winter sports.

There are activities like biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, mountain boarding, fishing, camping and such in the parks that are present here. The Banff national park gets about five million visitors almost every year.There are a lot of sports leagues in this place in the summer and winter seasons. There is also Australian football, soccer, basketball, netball, volleyball, Lacrosse, field hockey etc.

After hosting the Winter Olympic Games in the year eighteen hundred and eighty eight, there are many Olympic facilities that continue to function and serve as high class training facilities. Some of the most noted amongst these as the Canada Olympic park and the Olympic oval.  This place is also home to the Bobsleigh and the luge track with its jump tower which is located in Canada.

There are many athletes who take advantage of the availability of high altitude as this serves as an excellent way to test their sporting abilities and limits.  This place also has the advantage of being close to the Canadian Rockies and because of this, Calgary happens to see a lot of athletes not only from its region but from all over the world come in.

The city also has a multipurpose arena which is called the Pengrowth Saddledome.  This was also formerly known as the first modern area in the northern part of America which was capable of handling an ice rink which was regulation size.

Also, the open air stadium which is at Calgary is also called the McMahon stadium, it happened to be the first site which had both opening and closing ceremonies for the Olympics. . This place is now the current venue for the football league in Canada, the Calgary Stampeders.  This is a huge stadium and has a capacity to accommodate about forty thousand people. This place is also the fifth largest stadium in all of Canada.

There is an Olympic oval which is mainly used for accommodating high performance training and ice hockey as well.  The rink in the Olympic oval is renowned all over the world.

When you take a look at the oldest real competitors, he would seem as though he has spent his entire life skiing this mountain. Aged at about seventy five, Albert Lunn’s grandson, Peter Lunn is about ninety five years old and is said to be skiing royalty in these parts now. The last race he had was when he was ninety years old. Peter Lunns skis here almost everyday, according to him; he could never get enough of it.

As you go past the ruts and bumps, the terrains gets a little tougher.There is always a backup helicopter to rescue you from here. This is in fact to remind people that the thrills and laughs are not always fun and there are chances that things could still go wrong.  You should descent to Winteregg. This is basically what joins the crowds at the celebration après ski. This happens as there are toasts that are made to one more year on the snow peaks and another year of skiing them and surviving.

This place later turns in a miniature version of Oktoberfest The table in the sport halls which make the hall cum Bierkeller buckle almost gives way under the heavy heavy weight of the many thousands of skiers which come here and dance to the Ooompah bands right into the early hours of the morning.

You might probably wake up with a crazy hangover. May be some coffee and an aspirin would do you some good. In the morning, you would most probably be handed a long list of results.You could see how well you have done and what position you have won in the race. According to the race president, Kurt Huggler, “participation takes priority over position”.  You may be punch drunk and double barreled, and most probably quite out skied, but you know that you would definitely be back for more as there is almost another race to be won.

Switzerland is a country which is famous for its pocket knives and its chocolates. The alpine landscape also adds to the Swiss fame. Switzerland is famous for having many tours and hikes so that the tourists who come here could enjoy the many beautiful views while they indulge in all the activities that compliment the situation.

The culture here is quite amazing; the people take pride in their many interesting cities and many monumental castles. The people who come here to visit have to literally fight for time to go and check out the mountains, landscapes and terrains. There are many cities that are considered to be some of the richest cities in the world.  even though the city now looks quite modern , the property developers keep in mind , the rich and proud heritage and architecture of old Switzerland and have their constructs inspired from Switzerland’s amazing history.

Did you know that Austria have actually taken over France as one of the nicest places to ski! In fact just last season , it was surveyed that  France lost about five percent of the skiing market which includes the tour operators, and that left it with about just thirty three percent which Austria has now gained a lot more and has reached up to  twenty six percent.

The thing is Kitzbuhel and St Anton seems quite prosperous and is usually quite over shadowed by Courchevel and Val D’sere.  If you look back into the seventies, yes, during the times when the skiers used to wear straight skis and the downhill; the course was ruled by Franz Klammer. In fact a lot of British skiers have come to Austria.

In fact the French even began to create a giant resort with skiing that starts right from your doorstop.  This is probably what was used as a unique selling point to migrate here to the likes of Les Arcs, Tignes and La Plagne.

Austria now represents better value for money then the French alpine resorts anyways. The standard of service is also quite high and the place has sophisticated elevators and other forms of technology.

If you are someone who likes the black runs and the couloirs then you should try the classic high alpine terrain.  This may most probably be the best season to give the beautiful ski experience at Austria a good deserved try.

If you are a complete beginner then the best part is that you don’t have to go through the complexity of actually going to a large resort with a ski area that is linked in. there is a special relationship with the skiers who begin more than almost fifty years in fact a lot of them have even learnt that in two schools there are years and years of good work.  In fact when the conditions are snowy, there are lots of challenges which last you for more than a week. There is a large nursery which is in the village which is the center for practicing snow ploughs and the lessons after this. In fact the main ski area is just five minutes away by a very comfortable bus ride.

If you are looking for an appropriate place to stay then you could do to Gasthof post which is a three star hostel with a bar which is one of the favorites of the many locals here.

It would be something of a story to know that Princess Louise Caroline Alberta who is the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and who also is the wife of Marquis of Lorne, who is the governor General of Canada from eighteen hundred and seventy eight to the year eighteen hundred and eighty three.  She however wasn’t much a fan of the great outdoors.  In fact she hasn’t even seen the beautiful lake and the making wild Rockies that have been named after her.

Lake Louise is known to be a beautiful place which is said to have ‘matchless beauty’. It all seems to be a lovely lake during the rest of the year while in the winters. A nice thick blanket of snow provides a stunning backdrop while you come here to ski and enjoy a good amount of outdoor activities.  There are dog sledding competitions and snow shoe expeditions. You could bathe in beautiful hot springs and hike through many ice canyons. When you actually do ski in the main draw when in winter and spring, you will see about one hundred and forty different runs and path.  The span area of the recreational zone is about five thousand acres. There are nine lifts that take you up and down. This place is right in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. This is the largest and prettiest ski area in the region.  This is all made to suit all levels. Right from the small beginners to the ski experts.  In fact there is a large green run on the back bowls and the chairs; there are also glades and gullies.

If you feel like you get bored with pistes and you feel like you are inspired by the new Olympic sport of ski cross.  This also happens to be one of the most spectacular events that take place over here part from the Vancouver games.

If you are traveling here from the UK, you may be off or on time. This place gives many attractive and economic alternatives that happen now. This makes it a superb place for people who come here with their families for the Easter break and want to have some fun in the snow.  The fun seasons last up till the third of May.  And because of this huge function there is an extensive snow making facility.
