This is the place where Teutonic precision meets the flair of Italy. . This is where the Alps are embraced by the one of the Mediterranean.  This region also happens to be a region with awesome beauty.  There are many spas here that are quite awesome.  There is also a place of mountain hut which has an awesome contemporary design.  As the winter gets closes, this region is famous for its ski zones, its hiking zones and the whole ambience that makes this place look amazing and perfect for a ski holiday here in Tyrol ski area.

You should have your base set up in Merano, these is a charming town which is close to the Habsburg empress Elizabeth. This place is used as a retreat for rest and recuperation. There is an art Nouveau splendor. You can also have palm lined streets. There are many variations on what we call dumplings and gnocchi. There are local wines which are excellent. The pool is totally state of the art. And all this is just within touching distance from the many snow capped peaks. This range happens to be the most beautiful range in the whole world- according the mountaineering experts here!

Merano happens to be about ninety minutes away from the Innsbruck. This is also where it is possible to take the train to Bolzano and then on to Merano.

When you stay at the Aurora hotel, this place happens to be the modern face of a place that prides itself on its tradition.  These places are also well located, right in the middle of what looks to be the older section of the town.  There is also a River Passer. There are rooms and suites that combine both comfort with form. There is also a Turkish bath which can be used privately.  For about sixty five euros, you can get prizes which turn out to be quite reasonable.

The best way to spend the day is in the mountains on your ski here in Tyrol ski area.  There are many ski areas, which make the whole area all set to be in gear. The closest place to any town, are the red and blue sloped of Merano.  These are the best option of you have come along with your family.  When you go farther off, there is the Val Senales, which gives you a much more comprehensive range of runs.  It may not be your thing to have skiing and snowboarding, then that is still ok, as you have many walking trails in the valley. And these walking trails can be done also in the winter time. It would also be good if you join the many locals for a stroll on Sunday. This would probably be along the Passer River which is along the Promenade. When you go up toward the hills, there are some that contain the bigger villas and these stop for coffee at the Darling café.

The winter sport of bandy which is also called Russian hockey, this seems to be a team winter sport which is essentially played on ice. The skaters use sticks to direct the balls (in a competition) into the goal of the opposing team.

The rules of association football are similar to the rules of this game.  There is a rectangular block of ice which is almost the same size of a football field. All the teams have eleven players and one of them is a goal keeper.  When you look at a standard game of Russian hockey, it consists of a ninety minute game which is divided into two halves. There is a rule about offside which is the same rule which is followed in association football as well.

This is a game which is played on ice and one round ball is used.  There are eleven players in two teams who play against each other and the aim of the game is to score a goal in the opposing team’s goal post using sticks. A goal cannot be scored right from stroke off. When you get a stroke in or a goal throw. Which is unlike soccer, the goal cannot even be directly scored from a corner stroke.

All the free strokes in this are direct. And this allows a goal without players coming in between. At the end of the whole game, the team who has scored the most goals wins the game.

If both the teams have scored equal number of goals then the game turns out to be a draw, and there is no exception for this specific rule.

Players are not allowed to touch the ball with their heads, arms or hands at any time during the game play.  When players use their sticks to move the balls around they can use other parts of their body in a limited manner.

If the ball is headed, there is a five minute penalty. Using individual control of the balls; the players propel the ball toward the goal post of the opposing team.

The players can use tactics like dribbling, and passing the ball to another team player. You can even take shots at the goal. This goal is guarded by the opposing goal keeper. When the players from the opposing tem try and collect back the ball from the team playing against them. They can do this by intercepting a pass or they may use their skills to tackle the opponent of the opposing team. There are many limitations to the amount of physical contact between players. The game is essentially designed to be free flowing without many halts and stops. The game is designed in such a way that the only way the game stops is if one of the payers go off the field or the referee specifically calls for  stop in the game.

After the game stops, the game starts with a free stroke. The referee decides which team ha touched the ball the last.  There are three main positions that have specialized over game play even though there are no official positions. These positions are the forwards, the midfields and the defenders. There are many defenders who prevent their opponents from scoring.

When it comes to official rules there are about eight official rules in the Russian hockey rule book.  These rules apply to any and all the existing levels of  Bandy.  There are rules that have made for junior and some of these rules are also deigned for seniors.

This place is located at ten thousand eight hundred and twenty two feet right above sea level. And this place is spread over two thousand acres of terrain that is covered in a nice thick blanket of snow.

This place happens to be an excellent winter vacation destination for both families as well as couples.

This place is sometime even referred to as purgatory. No one really knows why! The resort is apparently open all through the year and there are tall mountain peaks that surround this place on all sides, in fact even the south where the sloping mountain range gives a way to a desert that is quite large.

The Durango Mountain resort is not too far away from the town of Durango. Also there are many shuttle buses that get visitors to go back and forth to and from the resort. The whole town is divided in somewhat like two parts. One part is the famous Animas River and the other areas which receives snowfalls all through the year. This ski resort is quite frequently visited by skiers of all levels.

There are about seventy five different ski trails that are made to suit all people from the novice level to the expert level.

There is an awesome two thousand and fifty feet vertical drop which is along the hiking trails. And these continue along the mountain biking trails, chairlift rides and climbing walks. There is a huge alpine slide for people with family and who have come here in groups.

When you come to the freestyle area called Paradise, which is an outdoor entertainment center and it has almost half a mile of snowy terrain. There are; foot climbing walks which are almost fifteen feet high and filled to the brim with snow. These walls also have boxes and rails. In case you need any skiing equipment you will be able to find it at the bottom of the slope.

What’s more is you could also sign up for classes right here at the arena. There are eleven ski lifts in all and there are nine chair lifts and the other two are surface lifts. These resorts operate at the park terrains and there is a specially designed snow coaster which is part of a tubing hill which is a place where a lot of tourists and locals come to have a good time.

If you are looking for lodging facilities, this is located at the town of Durango. There is the Durango mountain resort which has many different kinds of accommodations. These accommodations usually meet most of the requirements that most travelers who come here are in need of!

When you reach aspen you will find most of the slopes are all in the trees. The mountains here have guided tours which are free of charge and they start at ten thirty in the morning.  The tours are offered by ambassadors who are still amateurs.  There is a lot of space for the skiing to take place and the visitors will always have ample of ski area.  The slopes are mostly uncrowded.  When two runs merge there are cautionary signposting.

There are three main mountains here. Each of these is worth visiting.  Most of the mountain area is a snow mass.

When you go up the Gondola, there are a long and elaborate series of chairs. These are there to serve the many ridges of the aspen mountain.  When you do come here you will see a lot of long cruising blue runs that go along the valley and at the valley floors, these get shorter and steeper and they start from the ridges.

The smallest mountain which is easiest to climb is buttermilk.  If you decide to trek this mountain then there is a fast quad which start from the main base which has been here from quite a while now.  There are three direction from which the runs fan out.  One is back to the base, the other one is down to the slow tie hack chair and the last one is the fast quad which lies to the west of buttermilk.

The highlands usually consist of what is essentially a single ridge which is then served by three quad chairs that move really fast. The slopes here are easy and intermediate. There are steep black runs which are on the flanks. And the runs on the top are even steeper.  After the lift network is the famous highland bowl. The gates provide you with a double black gradient which gives you access to a beautiful open bowl.

If you come across queues are quite rare to come across on the mountains.  The gondolas sometime are delayed when it is peak time.  The best alternative to this is the shadow mountain chair which is just a short uphill walk.  Two of these chairs are quite fast and the other chairs are slow.

The highlands here in aspen are mostly always queue free. And at peak times, there are two lifts that come out from the buttermilk mountain; these chairs could sometimes get congested.

Winter games are conducted at the X Park and there are five distinct park buildings which are big in size and have quite a high difficulty level. The park is almost three kilometers long and this is supposed to be the longest stretch in the whole world.  This place is fully equipped with a world class super pipe which is about one hundred and fifty meters long and it has walls which are about seven meters high.

When you are about two hours from Boston, you should head to the Loon Mountain. This place is located in New Hampshire which lies just off the interstate number ninety three.  There is a north and south way which is almost choked with skiers. There are many snowboard riders also who come here over the weekends all through the winter.

This place is now a busy sports destination and there are three hundred and fifty acres of snow fun.

There are many skiers who are about forty five years and older who help to grow Loon right up to the point of its success.  These people usually just turn upwards from the Southern part of New England.

When you join them in the I 93 caravans, there are many children who are already grown and might take up snowboarding. These add to the huge mix of children and youth.  There are lots of kids who come here. These kids are most likely to be on a whippy, twin tip skis.  There are students who learn as they come here to the loon, this happens to be just one of the many perks that you could avail of when you come to the New Hampshire College that is quite close to the ski areas and many lodges.

The whole thing is quite strategically done. when you come to Loon , you will realized that the terrained parks are quite shrewdly designed. There re playgrounds of snow with ramps, jumps, tails that slide and many other such attractions which make the whole experience so memorable.  This is one of the few things that spate the people who come here to enjoy helves and the place never really gets a chance to seem crowded.

In fact it also makes perfect sense, there are people who like to ski, and there are some people who like to play in the snow and in the park.  The park etiquette and protocols are to be followed quite strictly and the management is quite stern about that.  In a situation like this, safety conquers everything else and if there is a cause for concern in a matter involving safety then everything else takes a backseat.   The many jumps and snow games could prove to be quite dangerous if not performed right.

The resorts have also found ways to develop the new beginners so that they could later progress to a much advanced level and enjoy in the many games and situations that this wonderful place has to offer.

Kloster happens to be located quite close to Davos which is a famous city in Switzerland. This place has the look of a typical Alpine resort.  The size is smaller than usual and this resort is one of those expensive resorts that cater to the needs, whims and fancies of the upper crust of society.

One of the many upper crust patrons who have come here is Prince Charles. The prince comes to this place quite often.  Many other people who have made this resort as part of their favorite place for skiing and such. There are many profile people who come here and they bring along with them a whole battalion of news reporters.

This place gets crowded many times.  The many different variety of activities that you could indulge in, like the many bars that make up the scenery. All of these will cost you quite a lot. And this is why you should have a big budget when you are planning to come and spend time in this resort.

There is another ski resort here in Switzerland called Villars. This place is situated at the end of the city which is in the Les Alps region. This in fact has got some beautiful scenery. The nearest town which is close to this ski resort is Aigle.  In fact this resort is quite easily accessible from almost all the cities here in Switzerland including Lausanne and Geneva.

The ski resort has been quite popular with the local Swiss people. In fact the facilities that have been made for the international visitors have also been turned into something huge.  This is how you could watch a lot of people who come here with many different nationalities especially if you are visiting the ski pace.

The resort also has amazing beauty surrounding the place. This place is located at the highest mountains which are near the ski Alps.

In fact this place is even more beautiful and breathtaking because of the many glaciers that rise above it.  In fact when you look at it for most part of the year; you will see that there is snow that is all round and because of this the place can now be used by the many pedestrians.

This place has large and natural set up for skiing.  When you are here you can ski right through the entire year. His entire place is snow clad almost all the time. These places also have good facilities for skiing. And because of this, it is a complete pleasure to ski here in this amazing resort of what looks like perfect scenic beauty.

Skijoring is a winter sport which shows a person on skis, who is pulled on by a horse or a dogs or there is a motor vehicle, more like tagging the skier along. The name for this sport is derived from the word skijoring which means ski driving in Norwegian.

When you skijor with a dog, this is on an assist to a cross country skier.  About one, two or about three dogs are used.  The skier is also provided with power skies and poles. The dog has more power by running along and pulling the skier.   There is a harness that is attached and the dogs have a sled dog harness for itself. Now both of these are connected by a rope.

The rime of the ancient marine .There aren’t any reigns or any other king of signaling devices to actually control anything about the dog. The dog should be self motivated by its own desire to actually run. The dogs can also run and respond to the voice of the owner for any kind of direction.

There are many breeds of dogs that participate in skijoring. The rime of the ancient marine. This happens to be a pre requisite which brings up a desire to run down an entire trail and pull. This instinct is quite innate in dogs.  For the dog to be able to participate in skijoring, the dog should weigh more than thirty five pounds. Any lighter and the dog might not be able to assist the skier all that much.

Pointers, setters and herding breeds and such dogs are quite enthusiastic about skijoring. Other breeds like Siberians, Malamutes, and Alaskan Huskies, Inuit dogs and Samoyeds are also famous for this.  Although any energetic dog can be a part of this.

You can seen many cross breeds too, you also seen Golden retrievers, Labradors, Giant Schnauzers. There are specific pulling breeds like the American Bull terriers, the Staffordshire Terries, Bull dogs and Mastiffs.

This sport is made for long and short distances.

There are races held about this sport as well.  The sport is usually held in countries which have snow in the winter.  Most of the races are between five to twenty kilometers.  This could also be the longest races in the road runner one hundred. This place is held in white horse Yukon.

If you are considering the United States and Canada, there are ski races that are held quite in conjunction with dog races on the sled. In Scandinavia, Skijoring is quite tightly associated with the sport of Pulka in Scandinavia.  The races ate usually quite limited to the dogs that have been bred in the north, like the Siberian husky.

There are certain advantages this location has – natural wild life, great views, cheap beer being just few of them. People there might speak a funny sounding language and the skiing resorts and ski chalets might not be as cosy and modern as the ones you’ll experience in skiing holidays in France, but there is a great atmosphere in skiing in this country, very honest and friendly people and the food there will provide your taste buds with new experience.

Another great thing about going to such a natural and different location is that you feel really like you’re on ski holidays, you don’t want to spend time on watching TV and sitting on the couch, you want to enjoy the time and relax.

I once watched a documentary in which they said that holidays, to be truly refreshing and relaxing should be as different and extreme to your daily life as possible, so if you’re a couch potato that goes everywhere in a car and only walks to the fridge for the beer, ski holidays in a different, remote location are exactly what you need to rest and relax.
