These architecturally beautiful Jain temples were built between 11the and 13th century. They are utter sophistication in white marble. These terrific temples are dedicated to Jain Tirthankars. The Vimal Vasahi Temple is the oldest temple in the temple complex. This temple was built by Vimal Shah in the dedication of Adinath (Rishabh Dev) – the first of 24 Jain Tirthankaras. It is one of the finest examples of temple architecture. The Dilwara Temple Complex holds a prime position among important places to see in Mount Abu, the hill town of Rajasthan, India.

Gaumukh Temple: It is one of the must visit attractions in the city with its beautiful surroundings and religious significance. The temple was built as a dedicated to Hindu Saint Vashishth Muni. According to legends – it is the place where Saint Vashishth Muni performed a yagna.

Adhar Devi Temple: It is one of the favorite tourist spots in the city. It is chiseled out of a huge solid rock.

Shri Raghunathji Temple: It is also a worth visit Hindu temple & shrine in the city.

Ooty which is a part of Tamil Nadu, South India is by far one of the most sought after and beautiful hill stations of the south. It is no wonder why it is popularly also called as the ‘queen of hill stations’. Known to very few, Ooty was originally called Udhagamadalam and sometimes even Ootacamund. Ooty is only a short form for Ootacamund. Ooty is located at a height of about 8000 feet above sea level and is a part of the famous Nilgiri mountain ranges in south India. Just like many other hill stations in India, Ooty was also founded by the British in the beginning of the 19th century. The place had served as a summer retreat for the British in the old days. The weather is mostly pleasant all year round however it could drop to as low as aero degree Celsius in the winters. The place attracts tourists all year round and has always been a favourite hot spot to many. The beautiful landscapes, tea gardens, little huts and cottages surrounding the mountainous regions and the ever rising mist among the greens make Ooty a little paradise of the south.

It was the establishment of the tea gardens and estates that popularized Ooty as a famous holiday destination. The dense forests and huge acres and hectares of beautiful evergreen tea gardens adorn the lengths and breadths of Ooty. It is very unfortunate to know that apart from the natural beauty of the place, the hill towns today suffer from overcrowding, pollution, water shortage, bad roads and erosion. However, the places surrounding the town are still untouched. The virgin land has much to explore with its protected forests, stunning landscapes and picture perfect views from the majestic hills above.

Reaching Ooty

Ooty is accessible to tourists by plane, rail and road. Whatever the means of travel may be, once you get there the fresh smell of the breeze and the cool air will freshen your senses as if the distance you travelled was barely anything at all.

By Air: The closest airport to Ooty is at Coimbatore which is approximately a 3 hour drive. There are frequent flights to Coimbatore from almost every part of the country. Air India, Jet Airways, Go air, Paramount and Air Deccan are a few airlines that can be named. You also have the option to fly to Bangalore and drive down to Ooty which is approximately a 6 hour drive. The road trip from any of these places is quite scenic as the roads that take you to Ooty are mostly through dense forests and good roads.

By Train: Train Number 2671, the Nilgiri Express leaves to Mettupalayam which is a little town on the foothills of the Nilgiris from Chennai. Since this is only a night journey, most of the scenic adventures are lost. However, a good nap before you reach there is always a good idea. From Mettupalayam one can either choose to drive to Ooty are take another diesel powered mini train which is over 200 years old and takes a longer time to reach its destination. During peak season cab drivers and other transport vendors charge tourists an exorbitant price to take them to Ooty. You also have the option to go to Coimbatore by rail and then drive down to Ooty which is again a 3 hour drive.

By Road: Though Ooty is located in Tamil Nadu, Ooty is very close to the Karnataka and Kerala border. From Bangalore Ooty is only about 280 kilometres away and the roads are very well maintained. The Bangalore-Mysore highway that was recently built is an excellent road and gets you to Mysore pretty fast. From Mysore one can travel through Bandipur which is protected forest before reaching Ooty. The winding roads and the scenic landscapes make this an excellent experience. If you are lucky you may spot some of the animals that live around this region like the spotted dear, elephants, tigers and monkeys. There are many Dhabas and restaurants on the way, so you can always stop on the way to grab a quick bite or relax. You also have the option to travel by bus or hire a cab or a mini bus that have frequent shuttles to Ooty and back. Travel by road is most preferred as the roads are good, the drive beautiful and the expense affordable.

Mussoorie, is regarded as Queen of Hills and is perhaps a heaven on earth. There is limitless beauty and you just get Zapped by the natural beauty all around. Positioned at altitude of 7000 ft, it presents commanding views of snow clad peaks in the north east and the attractive extensive jaded Doon valley towards the south.

Like all the other hill stations, Mussoorie doesn’t have an affluent past. It was not the summer capital state during the BritishRaj but the charm of Mussoorie lies somewhere else. Mussoorie became famous when an audacious British military officer visited this place in 1827 with Mr. Shore, the dweller Superintendent of Revenues at Dehradun and came up with a shooting lodge. Ever since then there has been a regular inflow of tourists here. Slowly and gradually Mussoorie had to its acclaim, the title of honeymoon capital of India and the Queen of Hills, where romance can be felt in the air and everywhere around. 
 
The very busy city all the year round, Mussoorie has a chaotic and frenzied social life, the lovely malls, crowed shops, large number of tourists all this makes certain that the place does not have an uninteresting day in calendar all round the year. Being so well-liked Mussoorie is a greatly urbanized hill station. It has all the amenities and services to accommodate the the tourists from all parts of the country and world.

The Mall is the chief hub where travelers love to go. All the time that is round the year, the place is always full of activity. It is the heart of the city  and perhaps the most developed area. History of Nainital:
According to a legend King Daksha father of Parwati held a great ‘Yajna’ but did not invite Parvati and Lord Shiva. Parvati could not accept this direct insult, in her great anger Parvati gate-crashed into the ‘Yajna’ ground and leaped into the high flames of ‘Yajna’ fire to end her life. And later on lord Shiva retrieved her half-charred body himself. The local people think that the eyes of Sati dropped in the lake while her body was being carried by Lord Shiva to Kailesh Parvat. thus, the lake was known the name of ‘Nainital’ or Naini lake.

Nainital (Recent history):
Nainital was founded by Mr. P. Barron in the year 1841. Mr. P. Barron was a European merchant and a hunter from Rosa. Mr. P. Barron was the first European who took great picture to this land. Moved by the beauty of the fresh lake he wrote: “It is by far the best site I have witnessed in the course of a 1,500 miles treak in the Himalayas.” The name “NAINI” is copied from a temple to the goddess ‘Naini Devi” built on the upper edge of the lake and was damaged by the landslip of 1880. It was replaced by a current structure. The word “Naini” means ‘Eyes’ and ‘Tal’ means ‘Lake’.

Climate of Nainital:
Nainital is colder than the rest of the hilly area of Kumaon region. During the monsoon, Nainital gets heavy rainfall. The atmosphere, therefore, is wet. The nearest areas of Almora and Ranikhet are heater than Nainital. Humidity in Nainital is less than in other hill stations. The monthly highest and lowest temperature of the town ranged between 27.06 degree C and 8.06 degree C.

Bhimtal:
Bhimtal is 22 kms far from Nainital. It is a beautiful valley. this is the biggest lake around Nainital. The beauty of this lake surrounded by blue water.

Khurpatal:
the altitude of Khurpatal is 1635 MT. this beautiful spot 12 km from the Nainital. It is measured to be anglers heaven having clear water and a good harvest of fishes.

Sattal:

Nakuchiyatal:
